Kind of newbie question, but we've bought a P6550 and 2 EVA4400's
On the P6550 controllers are 4 FC, and 2 SAS ports per controller.
The FC ports are to connect/provide access to servers, and the SAS ports to connect the EVA4400.
Only thing is, cables to EVA are missing and I cant figure out which type to use.
There are Y cables and normal ones
Can anyone provide info on what types are compatible and what is the better option?
or must it always be Ycables?

it was our case under Linux Server to move the Luns to new servers
After many tries i made it . so want to share it with you
here is the steps
Old Server
1-backup VG
vgcfgbackup –f /tmp/”vg-backup” “vgname”
2-Then copy vg-backup to old CCTV Server
scp /tmp/”vg-backup” x.x.x.x:/root
3-unpresent Lun
New Server
1-Present Lun
2-Scan for new Luns
hp_rescan -a
3-Restore the backup for VG
vgcfgrestore –f /root/vg-backup name” “VG name”
4-Run command vg display
vgdisplay
5-Enable VG
vgchange -a y “VG name”

I recently installed online a new disk enclosure for an already online-upgraded P6300.
Initially they array had 2 disk enclosures. Some time ago I added a third below the others with no issues following the installation instructions.
Now I follow the same steps to add a fourth disk enclosure but it went not that good. Enclosure was recognized with its disks but event log sporadically logs a message like this for both controllers:
***Critical event*** Controller 2 Bad cabling configuration detected in the backend devices cabling. - 0685992d
I've uploaded images with the intermediate 2C3D cabling and the final 2C4D. The initial 2C2D was the same as in the M6625 installation intructions.
No other hardware warnings/alerts in Command View.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Vdisks are created and presented to Host. At host level (Red Hat 6) after executing hp_scan, fdisk is only showing local disks.

The firmware is on 10.6 however in the revision history it jumps from 10.5 - 10.7 does anyone know if 10.6 was pulled for any reason? The OS is Linux 6.4 running on a Brocade Director on v7.4.0b.

I have a P4500G2 cluster with 8 nodes running 12.5. When we added the 8th node to the cluster it suddenly went to 100% utilization, where if you look at the used space .vs. total space we should be a little less than 50% (see attached screen shot). Because it "thinks" the cluster is at 100% we can delete volumes, shrink volumes, or any other management functions.
Any thoughts on how we might get this cluster to recalulate space?

We have an array EVA P6500 with two controllers. This array was bought in october of 2011.
Recently, we have issues about several FC disk failed (15k rpm). We have five failed disk in the last two months, . This array is not in support contract.
I know that the age is a factor for probability of get a disk fail event, but, my question is:
What other factors can affect the timelife of a magnetic disk, specially in enviroment of EVA P6500 ?I have a similar array in other side with no problems.
Please provide me any clues according your experience.

I need to do dome firmare upgrades from v7.2.x to v8.0.x on a couple of SN3000B switches. Reading through the release notes I can either do this distruptively but in fewer steps or non-disruptively in more steps. To minimise risk I would rather do more steps that are non-disruptive but I want to know if this is truely non-disutptive using this approach. The environment is very simple with 2 x FC switches, a small number of hosts and single storage array. Whereas some hosts are multipathed there are a couple of hosts with only a single HBA port and therefore connected to just one switch. My interpretation of 'non-disrutpive' is that a single pathed host will not suffer any outage when the switch is upgraded - is this what 'non-disruptive' means in the HPE\Brocade world or do I need to **bleep**down any single pathed hosts first?

I have some vdisks on a EVA P6350 under the command view we don't see the presentations hosts.
under the utility SSSU we see this hosts. the firmware of storage is XCS1300000 and the version of CV 10.3.3 ;
on others vdisks we see hosts. we reboot the manap and the pb leave.
any suggest please

We have recently moved our EVA4100 unit from one rack to another, including cabling, and since reboot ALL disks are showing "One loop connection lost" (see attached image)
Is this an issue with the disks themselves or the cabling?
I have read that it can be due to one of the following:
1. EVA not being restarted in the correct order
2. Issue with connection on back of EVA
3. Disks needing to be reseated.
Does anyone know of any steps we can follow to resolve this issue?

I have a HP P6350 controller that is connected to a storageworks D2600 disk enclosure. The enclosure appears in my command view software, but when I try to initialize the disks, it says "Error, drive is unsupported." and all of the drives light up amber.
The controllers are both HSV340 controllers connected via Mini-SAS to the disk enclosure. These controllers are running firmware: 11001100. The drives are all MB2000FBZPN running the latest firmware. They all appear OK and operational before initializing, but display a failed state when attempting to initialize. These drives have been tested and working on other systems.
There are no further errors that the system gives me, so I am a little stuck here. Any help will be much appreciated.

I have a problem hsv450 xcs 11300000 controller A battery 2 and 3 , I already changed the batteries and the controller. Continues to exhibit the same problem. Any tips or help ?
The chassis and controller part numbers appear to be the same so what is different between the two? Can I put the D2600 firmware on a enclosure that was originally a M6612? Trying to do the update shows no supported hardware found.
