Resetting EVA4400 Management Module not working

Hi All,

As these things tend to do periodically, I lost connection to the EVA4400 management module. This time I tried resetting it, pulling it out, re-inserting it...nothing is working and I can't connect to 192.168.0.1:2373. Tried connecting a laptop to it (to eliminate cable/network switch issue)...no dice.

Command View shows the module in good operational state, lights are green etc. When I pull it out/re-insert it boots fine, green lights once again, etc. Yet I still can't connect.

Guessing it might be time to get a replacement unit??? Any other suggestions?

EVA 8400 Disk Group Hardware Failure

Hi,

We've got a very old EVA8400 which has one of it's disk groups in a state due to multiple disk failures. From what I can tell:

  • We had a disk failure replaced yesterday during the day, so the disk group was levelling
  • overnight we had two more disk "failures" whilst it was levelling (disks are in a "missing" status rather than failed, but in this state they might as well be failed)
  • the disk group is now unavailable, leaving with 2 options to choose: a) Continue with no changes, b) start resolution process

So I have very little experience with these EVA's, they got handed over from others who have left now. They are probably 10 years plus old now, but are still under support. We have raised a hardware call to get the replacement disks sent out.

Has anyone had this experience before, are we looking at complete data failure? Should I just wait for the replacement disks and take it from there? Should I click on "Continue with No changes" and see what it says? Any help or advice will be gratefully received!

Доброго времени суток. Закрылась 2я компания, от нее достались 4 комплекта контроллеров с полками.

К моей глупости и по незнанию, сделал сброс контроллера. позже выяснил что теперь у меня нет лицензии на использование HP P6000 Command View. Вопрос, можно ли как то восстановить работоспособность системы? на сайтах копался, нужны номера соглашения и так далее, их нет, в наличии есть только счета от компании которая продавала и серийные номера устройств. компания поставщик закрылась.

Disk EVA Storage not detect after replace Fail SAN Switch

Dear All

We have problem when replace new SAN Switch, the disk use EVA Storage not detect. We replace SAN Swtich because older san switch fail.
Is right, the solution only with vgexport/vgimport? can we do vgexport, even though the disk not deteced because old san switch fail?

while i doenloaed i got two files  cveva1038.zip (106 MB) and T5494-10564.zip (54 MB) not got confues which one is reqiored . or any one can assist me on this

Hello, 

The array is connected to the server via 2 controllers  channels A1 and B1, for the last day we already have a problem in which lost connect VM to array, and after 2-4 minutes the connection is restored, what can I do?

Command View EVA 10.3 and Flash plugin beyond Dec 2020 - solutions?

How can I continue to manage a legacy EVA P6000 array when Command View EVA 10.3 utilises Flash.

Flash in the browser will not be there beyond Dec 2020.

Anyone have a possible solution or thoughts or workarounds - apart from get off the EVA P6000.
I am wondering if a Portable Firefox ESR version from a few years back could be used. That might have the Flash plugin baked in.

Weird FATA drive info

I just came across a refurbished FATA drive with some sort of mismatched info about it:  caddy label says "1TB SPARE: 671148-001"; original (large) drive label says "MB2000FAMYV, 507613-002, 9JX248-035" (googling those shows a lot of "2TB" results); a couple of HP "hologram" labels show "AG691"; finally, CV-EVA says "NB1000DCLAL".

This HPE doc says bare drive assembly number 507613-002 is either a 2TB or the NB1000DCLAL/AG691B/671148-001 1TB drive, both "as assembled": https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-a00061522en_us

Is this usual?  And what does "as assembled" mean?

Data copying from operating equipment to spare equipment has recently occurred
Data replication state is degraded
Condition state: Operational state: Logging / Not Merging

EVA4400 Firmware Needed

Hi!

We have 2 EVA4400 (1 EVA4400 and 1 EVA4400 Embedded Switch) that were under a HP contract until HP stopped supporting it a few years ago. We had both EVA's at 11300000 (controllers), but had to replace a controller that has 11200000. Would like to upgrade, but don't have the firmware file anymore. Thoughts?

Storage system can't connect over iSCSI on Linux

My Linux server on bay (Synergy 480 Gen10) can’t connect storage system over iSCSI.

$ iscsiadm -m discovery -t st -p xx.x.x.xxx:3260

iscsiadm: cannot make connection to xx.x.x.xxx: No route to host

iscsiadm: connection login retries (reopen_max) 5 exceeded

iscsiadm: Could not perform SendTargets discovery: iSCSI PDU timed out

I change various connection settings in OneView: boot – iSCSI primary with user-specified or simple ethernet connection. With same OneView connection settings (VLAN, target IP, LUN..etc) servers with Windows Server 2016 working without problem.

HP EVA4400

Good Morning,

For disk space reasons, I had to temporarily add an expansion drive to the my EVA-4400 with 12 disks of 1Tb in RAID-0. The problem is that one theses disks has failled and I have no access to all the contents of the drive. I need have access to the data urgently and found the following option on the console:

Disk Group Hardware Failure

- The following Vdisks and data replication groups have failed as a result of a hardware failure in this disk group.

- Failed Vdisks

- Virtual Disks\VOLUME-TEMP\VDISK-TEMP

- Failed Data Replication Groups

- No failed DR groups

 

I ask you which one with two options listed should I follow to recover and have access to the expansion data considering that I have a new disk to replace the defective one?
